Found your group at the loveland car show, and joined at the july meeting. I am not new to the mustang world, and have really enjoyed playing with the fox body stangs for several years. I do all of my own work, body.paint, engines, and suspensions. In the recent past I have built and campaigned mustangs in autocross, road race, and street /show. I am retired and currently have so many projects to finish that I will never die. My current projects are 1984 Musang gt350 convert. Not a real anniversary car, but a clone. When I bought this car , it was loaded on a trailer with a forklift, and has been a work in progress for a few years. Licensed and plated just this year. I have always liked a red top on a white car. Mechanically it is a full setup from one of my old autocross cars. 1989 Mustang LX coupe. Totally rebuilt from radiator to rear axle last year. Griffin rad, ford 345 crate motor, tremec 5speed, 3.55 posi, Mac exhaust. 1965 Factory five Cobra. Not a mustang, but some of you may get a kick out of it. I certainly do. Just completed a 3000 mile trip to a naitonal show in columbus ohio, I was able to attend 6 events in 12 days. 1959 Jaguar mark 1 sedan. Under restoration, will be street rodded with a ford 302/AOD. Looking to have a very unique project when done. I am looking forward to participating and contributing to your group. Derald Rice

Derald, Our Mustang Club just gained a whole new level of experience! I'm sure you can teach a bunch of us a few things.
Those are gorgeous looking cars and we hope to see ALL of them either at events or at club meetings. Did you do the Factory 5 project yourself? I can only imagine how nice the Jaguar will look when that is completed.
Thanks for finding us and we hope you enjoy the club.

Welcome aboard Derald
Thanks for sharing some pics of your various project cars. I recognize the Cobra since I've seen it around town a number of times.
I remember being over at your house many years back and visiting with you. You had a 80's something Mustang at the time. Back then I was running around in my old Datsun 510 and a Opel Manta Rallye.
We'll cya around Jim

Thanks for the replies.
Marc; Yes I was at spradley for a while. I am trying to forget that experience. Hopefully you are not going to hold that against me.
Ken: I did everything on the factory five except the machine work on the block and the upholstery.
Jim; Sorry but I do not remember your visit. But don't feel bad, there are times when I can't remember where I put my beer.
Derald.

Hello folks I am new to the club . I am looking at a 1968 mustang that is advertised as having an original 289cu.in. How do I verify that it is the original motor? i. e. are there #s that i need to look at on the block or VIN #s ? Any help would be greatly appreciated . Thanks Dave

Unfortunately I can't help you with your question but if you don't get an answer you might consider starting a new thread in the Stable or Garage sections of this forum. Your question might not get the right attention as a reply to Derald's original thread. Good luck.
