A week ago while driving home from work my air bag light came on and stayed on in my 2008 Mustang GT. After a week at Longmont Ford they repaired the wires and replaced the connectors to the side air bags in both seats. Today while coming home the light came on again. Obviously the problem isn't fixed. Has anyone with a 2005-09 Mustang had or heard of this problem? Dave

Most of those warning lights work with a ground switch. If there is a short (wire rubbed the frame etc) it will cause the light to go on. These can be hard to find. The only way is is to trace the wiring point to point. Most shops won't dedicate a technician to this because it is time consuming and they won't make back enough $ to cover his time. If you have a wiring diagram use it to identify sections of the wiring you can isolate and then work through it checking the status of the light as you go. You might get lucky and find the problem early in the trace.

I dropped the car off at Longmont Ford again last Saturday. This time they said the air bag in the driver seat was defective and needed to be replaced. They worked on it all week. They called at noon today (Friday) to tell me they finished the work but the light came back on again. So, they called the factory this afternoon and received instruictions that it had something to do with the computer. They called back at 3:30 and it's all OK now. YEAH!!
When they worked on it the first time the tech manager to gouge up the entry plate on the driver side when he removed the seat. I should have said something but didn't want to sound to picky. Today when they called back the service said said he notice that the entry plate was gouged so he ordered a replacement at no charge. I think it had something to do with the sign I put on the seat that read: Please use caution when working on my car. It's a SHOW CAR.
Anyway, it was all under warranty so no money out of my pocket.

Glad to hear you got it resolved. Nothing worse than an annoying warning light. (other than someone scratching your car).

That's great! Really glad you didn't have to start chasing wires. That's never fun!
