Success. I put the sway bar in last week without breaking anything and the new 5 leaf mid eye springs also went in without the aid of a cutting torch. The bolts were soaked every day for a week with penetrating oil and that seemed to help. The only thing that did get broken was a u bolt on the driver side muffler clamp. The eye bolt for the leaf spring was just too d**n long and the muffler had to be loosened in order for the project to be completed. Much to my chagrin, the new leaf springs haven't really lowered the car. Rich at Midwest Auto Body said they would need time to settle a bit. The passenger side is a hair bit higher than the driver side so I put some old cast manifolds on that side and with any luck the two sides will equalize. I know Jim recommended I put in the reverse eye but looking at my current clearance those wouldn't have made much difference. If the backend doesn't drop down far enough for my liking I am thinking about getting some 1" lowering blocks. Any thoughts on this from anyone in the club who has swapped out springs. I plan on going to the All Ford Show at Shelby American in Gunbarrel this weekend so y'all can look at it then.

Trust me the thought has crossed my mind. I am kind of hoping that the upcoming autocross will settle things down in a hurry

Sandbags might make it ride like the Caddie that Jim is planning to bring to the Autocross.

I just want weight in the car while it is sitting in the garage, not while I am driving.
