I recently ordered a grille cover plate after seeing one installed at our car show which looked really nice. I got the thing yesterday and am disappointed The holes for the hood bumpers don't line up as nicely as they should when the cover is centered. Now I realize that I have a 65 grille on a 66 car and ordered a cover for a 66 car but those holes should line up as the bumpers are mounted on the radiator support. Also the sheet metal on the backside will need to see a metal brake for the thing to even be installed with any rigidity. I am going to take it and my car to my body shop tomorrow and see what Rich thinks. I have already located some aluminum sheet stock at Ace hardware I can use to fab my own and have it look better. Just have to use the current piece as a template as the overall shape of it is nice. It is just the dang holes for the bumpers that don't line up as good as I think they should. Will keep you informed as I WILL have this done in time for the HF show next weekend.
