Looking for some recommendations on a couple issues I have with my 2008 Mustang GT. Problem #1: A couple of months ago Mark Peterson pointed out that my right-side muffler was hanging lower than the left (thanks Mark). Today I pulled the muffler off and discovered the reason. The weld on the rear mounting bracket is cracked, allowing the muffler to droop (see attached photos). These are aftermarket mufflers that come stock on a 2008 Bullitt Mustang that I had installed a couple of years ago. No warranty. Looking for a recommendation on a welder who can repair this. The material is 409 Stainless. Apparently this was a common problem. The new mufflers have a different bracket design which is much more robust. Problem #2: I managed to get some pretty nasty scratches in the passenger side door, rear quarter panel and rocker panel. I was considering trying a Dr. Colorchip repair kit. Based on their web site it does really good at repairing paint chips. Questionable for scratches. The scratches in the rocker panel are the worst and will probably require a complete repaint. Trying to avoid that on the door and quarter panel. Anybody with experience trying to fix scratches and/or using the Dr. Colorchip product? Dave W.
