Hey all,
My name's Dave. I'm retired Air Force here in Cheyenne to stay. I sold my Stang a few years ago for a more family oriented toy (camper) but I've made my way back into the hot rods. My car was in the November 05 issue of 5.0 and SF under the article titles Rocket Man's Plan, in reference to my ICBM working background. Then it was just in the last Dec issue of MM&FF through a new owner that did some tuning and work to my car and he earned the car another spot in the pages. I don't currently own a Mustang per-se but I have a car with lots of Mustang parts or style. I have a 63 Fairlane 500, 4 door with a Mustang II front end from Rod and Customs and I put a 96 Cobra drivetrain in it and it has a 4 linked 8.8 in back. I have been looking at another stang since my last one has been haunting me for the past few years. I have my eye on a 65 but I've mostly been a Fox platform guy. I've built tons of different setups and love working on cars. I hope to have the 65 or another as soon as I get my shop built this winter or next spring. Until then, I continue to plug away at the Fairlane in my little garage and help others with their projects.
When you guys do your cruises, are only mustangs allowed in the run? I've been bombarded by die hard Chevy guys who gave me the impression that Fords just don't belong around these parts. It'd be nice to hang out and join in a group of like minded Ford fans to bounce ideas off of and learn from rather than chest pump about brand superiority.
I'll see if this lets me post a pic but this is my current car...
And under the hood........
Here's my old stang all polished up by the new owner...
Thanks for letting me join and I hope I can be a welcome part of the group.
Dave
